Three yards of hand marbled silk ribbon patterned in cloud-like swirls of lilac purple. This diaphanous and elegantly patterned ribbon may be used for favors, bouquets, garlands, or anything you please. I picture it accompanying an ethereal bouquet of lavender or lilac blossoms with silvery foliage.

Each wooden spool of ribbon holds a unique monoprint made by hand in New York.

- available in 2, 3, or 4 inches wide
- 3 yards long
- silk habotai, raw edge
- double sided print

Marbling is the ancient technique of making prints on paper or fabric using floating pigments. The pigments, water-based acrylic in this case, are dropped onto the surface of water thickened with carrageenan moss. The colors are manipulated into patterns, and mordanted fabric is draped across the water's surface. It picks up the pigments in their lively patterns, looking as if they are still dancing on water.
